Water on Mars?
July 18th 2008 01:12
Fox News recently posted some news and wonderful photos of mars that appear to confirm the past presence of what was a water rich planet, that could have sustained life.
For me, that news just refuels my curiosity and hope for continued space exploration because I want to believe that we have relatives out there, somewhere, waiting to show us the galactic hood.
Don't take my word for it, check the story out for yourselves, Story Link or even Fox's News Space Center
These images show the cliffs, valleys and plateaus of Echus Chasma, thought to have been one of the largest water-source regions on Mars.
Here's the photos:
Echus Chasma resembles a dry riverbed 60 miles long and 6 miles wide. It cuts through the Lunae Planum high plateau north of Valles Marineris, the so-called Grand Canyon of Mars.
The images — released Tuesday but taken on Sept. 25, 2005 — show side-branching valleys roughly 6 miles long and half a mile deep.
So, what should we do now? Let's not wait to get probed, let's probe them first.
